I posted a couple weeks ago about my need and subsequent capture (LOL) of a less than traditional bracelet mandrel. I was requested to make a knot bracelet similar to my In Knots hoop earrings.
I tried several different gauges of wire before settling on 12 ga. I also tried forming an entire circle bangle, but decided that a cuff would be more wearable.
I like the way they turned out, and they are very comfortable to wear. And, because the bangles are made from some fairly large gauge wire that has been hammered and tumbled, they won’t end up bent or mis-shapen over time.

Available in my Etsy and Artfire Studios.

Things To Do While You Wait In A Drive Through Lane
1. Stand close to the speaker and yell your order, using colorful expletives in ways which would embarrass the patrons inside.
2. Drive through backwards.
3. Belch your order.
4. Barter. Offer a Whopper for a Big Mac.
5. Walk through.
6. Speak a foreign language (make one up if you have to). When the manager comes to the mic, speak English and inquire as to why the order taker had such difficulty understanding you.
7. Repeat everything the order-taker says.
8. Attempt to take the order-takers order (“Hi, may I take your order?”) before they get a chance to take yours.
9. Order confusing items, i.e., “Hi, I’ll have a large orange Coke and a small medium fries, please.”
10. At noon, when it is busy, place a HUGE order, then slip out of line and watch the fun as the person behind you is handed 40 bags of food.
11. When you arrive at the window to pick up your food, hand them several bags of garbage & ask if they’ll dispose of it for you. Make sure it smells.
12. Drive through with a car load of naked people.
13. Speak in such a garbled fashion that the order-taker will think there is a problem with the speaker and ask you to order at the window. When you arrive at the window, speak in the same garbled, incomprehensible fashion.
14. Drive through with someone on the hood to accept the food.
15. Bring along a Mr. Microphone. When the order-taker speaks, aim the mic at their speaker but do so while aiming the Mr. Microphone speaker at the mic to produce excruciating feedback of their own voice.
16. Have a friend hide in the trunk. When you approach the window to pickup your order, have him start yelling and banging his fists on the trunk.
17. If you are a male, have a female friend place the order by speaking VERY seductively and suggestively into the speaker. When she finishes, have her hide and pull up to accept your order. See how many of the order-takers fellow employees have been called over to the window to “check out the babe”.
18. Change a flat tire

Shiny Spotlight Thursday
There are some really talented artists, designers and creators that sell their handmade items on Artfire and etsy. I thought it might be nice to highlight some of the things that caught my eye this week while browsing.
Clicking on each image will link you to the seller of each item, if you decide you simply must purchase it.
If you haven’t opened an account on etsy to purchase handmade items, you really should. Also, if you haven’t checked out Artfire in a while, you can find some really unique gifts on the site. . Artfire doesn’t require you to open an account to purchase handmade goods. Easy peasy.

I submitted a couple artisan jewelry items to CraftGawker this weekend, and both were approved and listed on the site. According to the site’s about us page “craftgawker is a gallery where anyone can showcase their art, crafting and photography skills. It’s a place for you to discover new artists and homemade goods to inspire your own creations.”
I’m always nervous when I submit things to a juried site. It’s like high school, ” will they like me”, ” am I cool enough” LOL

There are some really gorgeous submissions from all kinds of artists. Caution though.. lots of eye candy and its easy to waste an hour or so just browsing.

The development team at Artfire is nearly finished with the development of Coupons for sellers. In the next few weeks, Artfire sellers will have access to a customizable application that will enable them to set the type of discount or special offer they’d like, determine what items or categories to apply it to, set the time period of the code, and even set exactly what the code would be. Sellers will be able to specify discounts for customers such as 15% off all items in a particular studio category for the next ten days, and then name that discount code something like “10daysale” or “necklace sale” or whatever the seller desired.
Enabling sellers to set their own discounts tied to a particular calendar event, buying group or advertising campaign is going to be fabulous. I’m practically giddy with excitement.
Stay tuned to Behind the Beta for the announcement of the roll out.
