I’m not feeling particularly creative today. My son, the master of mayhem, managed to park a lego in his nose on Saturday morning. A quick trip to the minor emergency clinic determined that it was firmly enough wedged within those anterior spaces that an additional trip to an ear/nose/throat specialist would be required. <sigh>
Of course, the ear/nose/throat specialist isn’t open on Saturday mornings. So, we picked up some antibiotics to ward off any tiny germy visitors and spent the weekend talking about legos and phlegm and other things that little boys think are HILARIOUS.
What he won’t find as hilarious is when the Dr. has to knock him out to retrieve the aforementioned lego. I’m not looking forward to that part of the adventure.
I know, I know, it could be worse. I hope everything goes smoothly in the morning and my wonderful, trouble making kiddo is back to his old tricks. Hopefully they won’t involve legos and body orifices.
I did manage to construct two new necklaces just in time for the holidays. Although, you should know that, my son lectured me, in a VERY stern voice, that “those red beads do NOT go in your nose Mommy”. Righto.
So, heed his warning and do not put any of the beads in either of these necklaces in your collective noses. Or we may just see you in the Dr’s office today.
Don’t miss a single post.

Oh my goodness. Too funny on him warning you. LOL
OMG, that’s why I always bought the BIG leggos only.
hope it works out okay. btw, those necklaces are gorgeous.
great work, as always. so when will we see a new tutorial ?
I must admit I love them. Thanks for running my ad today.
I SO remember those days.
Ok…try the little beadies you get from Beanie babies…THOSE are fun, too. Two stuck in one ear…One comes out. The other does not. A trip to the surgeon and we have to give him a RIDICULOUS amount of Benedryl just to get him relaxed enough to sit on the bed…nevermind put on his scrubs. TG the hospital was the one responsible for the dosage…Children’s Services would’ve taken him away if WE did that. He was as uncooperative as they come. Head down, armes crossed frown on “kill” setting, shaking his head hard enough to cause brain damage and absolutely adorable at it. Seriously, I thought the nurse was gonna wet herself she was laughing so hard- which was helping my husband and I OH SO much…!!!!
It took longer to dress him than it did to get him into the OR, remove the beads and bring him to Recovery. Like 2 hours I’m fighting with this kid.
BTW…he LET his twin sister put the beads in his ear. Her excuse? “I didn’t want them in MY EAR- and he LET me!”
The stories we get to tell that aren’t so much fun when they happen are HYSTERICAL later on…you’ll see. ;o) And the necklaces are FAB!
Gosh! Sounds a lot like what happened with my daughter this past weekend except she didn’t put a Lego in her nose, it was a plastic purple bead, and boy was she terrified! We didn’t know it was a bead in her nose until I had her blow her nose into a tissue, she was just freaking out and saying “my nose my nose!” and crying. I did see a bit of purple in her nose but I thought it was just some fuzz or something which is why I had her blow her nose. I’m glad the bead popped right out, and after that we had a similar talk, no beads in the nose! I’m hoping it scared her enough that her first bead in her nose is also her last.
