When I was a teenager we lived in Germany. While I was MUCH more interested in liquids produced with the local hops, my mother collected Swarovski stuff. Lots and lots of Swarovski stuff. Crystal animals, angels, fish, butterflies and ornaments joined our european household.
I was never very interested in these little dust catching chatchkas. I didn’t realize that Swarovski even made beads until recently. And when I did realize that one could purchase bead sized crystals, I just wasn’t interested. As Craig Ferguson would say in the appropriate accent “I KNOW” while looking at you knowingly. Some of my beading friends gave me a friendly tongue lashing, so I’ve acquired a few Swarovski Beads of my own. And you know what? They are drool worthy lovely. Really. I’m kind of shocked and more than a little embarrassed that I like them. You know the old saying about “the one doth protest too much” as I was carrying on about how I wasn’t the biggest fan? Well, I’ve been suitably chastised and intend to mend my errant ways.
I chose two Swarovski column pendants, several Montana blue Swarovski faceted cubes, a pair of REALLY lovely Swarovski crescent moon pendants, some Cylamen Opal Swarovski Graphic cubes and some Topaz Swarovski Faceted Rounds , just in time for November.
Aren’t these Crystal Moon Swarovski Pendants gorgeous? I’m thinking they’d be a perfect accent for Team Edward. LOL
I’ve been fondling the beads for about a week now on my bench, so you’ll see another post from me soon with the items I’ve created from them. I don’t know which ones I like best yet, but oh, man, the color shifts on the Cyclamen Opal cubes are FABULOUS.
Don’t miss a single post.

Ha! I’m glad you’ve converted and mended your ways. You won’t regret it. BTW, those column pendants are my absolute favs. People ooh-ed and aah-ed over them at my last show and I was sorry I only had one pair of earrings using them.
I know I know you tried to tell me.
I’m with you, I never used swarovski. They are lovely though. Saw a vender at a recent show and she uses only swarovsky and a few stone beads for accent. Her table sparkled. Not ready to go that far, but I might consider adding a few here and there, lol.
