My day job has been ALL consuming. All day, long hours into the night. Sleep has been a preferred commodity instead of a required one as of late.

I’ve spent very little time with my new torch, which makes me sad. Ah, to win the Powerball and be able to fabricate jewelry full time.  But, you don’t visit this blog to hear me whine, do you?

I do have several projects lined up to finish though, and I’ve posted a couple pics below. The red stone is a huge agate that is going to end up as a ginormous ring. B0th of the labradorite cabs will end up as pendants. The tiny striped malachite cab is going to take its final shape as a ring too. You can see the sketch of the finished ring above the actual stone.  I blogged about sketching and saving the sketches along with the stones in an earlier post.

Its been a long time since I’ve given shout outs to the fab folks that have featured me in their etsy treasuries.  Its always a little humbling to realize that your item was chosen over, literally, more than a million pieces of jewelry to be added to another artist’s collection of art.

What is a treasury? According to Etsy “The Treasury is an ever-changing, member-curated shopping gallery of handpicked items. Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme or just whatever they like. ” Etsy members choose, or curate, 12 items into their visual list to share with the world.

This is the weirdest thing. Have any of you had this happen when soldering low dome wire? No polishing, this is what it looks right out of the pickle…

The stripes are on the outside AND the inside.

I use a salt/vinegar pickle that is relatively new (less than a two weeks old). What was really weird was that I had a bunch of stuff in the pickle last night, as I was doing a batch of stuff at once. There were several bezels, and melted balls, pendants, a selection of fine and SS stuff, maybe 25 pieces all together. Only the low dome wire turned out with that weird striped result.

I purchased the wire from Rio. I called them and sent a couple pictures. They sent me a label to ship the remaining wire back. Now THAT’s  good customer service.
