In Knots: Artisan Sterling Bangle

Aug

I posted a couple weeks ago about my need and subsequent capture (LOL) of a less than traditional bracelet mandrel. I was requested to make a knot bracelet similar to my In Knots hoop earrings.

I tried several different gauges of wire before settling on 12 ga. I also tried forming an entire circle bangle, but decided that a cuff would be more wearable.

I like the way they turned out, and they are very comfortable to wear. And, because the bangles are made from some fairly large gauge wire that has been hammered and tumbled, they won’t end up bent or mis-shapen over time.

Available in my Etsy and Artfire Studios.

ShinyAdornments handmade jewelry was on CraftGawker

I submitted a couple artisan jewelry items to CraftGawker this weekend, and both were approved and listed on the site. According to the site’s about us page “craftgawker is a gallery where anyone can showcase their art, crafting and photography skills. It’s a place for you to discover new artists and homemade goods to inspire your own creations.”

I’m always nervous when I submit things to a juried site. It’s like high school, ” will they like me”, ” am I cool enough” LOL

There are some really gorgeous submissions from all kinds of artists. Caution though.. lots of eye candy and its easy to waste an hour or so just browsing. :-)

Artisan Handmade Jewelry: Wild Pink Polymer Clay Bracelet and Dangle Earrings

Nov

I like handmade polymer clay beads. Actually, I like them a lot.  And there are some REALLY talented artists creating some really fabulous beads.

This handmade bracelet and earrings use some terrific surrealistic like beads I purchased from a talented artist on etsy.  Both are available in my etsy shop.

Where's the party earrings  Where's the party dangle earrings

The wild party bracelet incorporates sterling silver wire and several sizes of black onyx beads. The beads in the dangle earrings are accompanied by pink tourmaline rondelles, natural rose quartz beads and more black onyx round beads.

Hayley Jewelry : Kudos to preppy power

Sep
No Comments   Posted by Kristy |  Category:My Jewelry

Remember preppies? Argyle? Icons? Stripes? Polka dots? Ribbon belts? Top siders? Plaids? Pink and green and the 80s?  Its an easily identifiable style, and this color combo really brings me back.

The artisan handmade wire wrapped bangle uses sterling silver wire and several sizes of pink and green unakite stones. The artisan handmade ring utilizes the same materials. (Click here for a ring size chart)

According to wikipedia unakite was “first discovered in the United States in the Unakas mountains of North Carolina. Unakite is an altered granite composed of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and generally clear quartz. It exists in various shades of green and pink and is usually mottled in appearance.” Good quality unakite is considered a semiprecious stone.

Both are available in my shop.
