Artisan Rainbow cabochon and sterling silver pendant necklaces are back in my shop again. I’ve missed their bright, cheery colors.

Inspiration is found in funny places sometimes, isn’t it? This one takes the long way ‘round. But I promise I’ll get there.
Squeeze is one of my favorite bands. Ever. I can remember rewinding my cassette tape (!!) over and over trying to memorize the words in my favorite Squeeze tunes. In a seven degrees of separation kind of thing, one of my favorite shows is currently featuring Johnny Lee Miller as a deranged psycho. Remember Johnny Lee when he was an uber hot techno geek in Hackers? Bleached blonde hair and all kinds of geeky goodness? Squeeze sang in that movie. Remember? Heaven knows? Here’s a link to a lovely musical flashback from 1995 (Watch closely, my color inspiration is in the video)
Heaven Knows
You’re no Dame, I’m no Duke
Somehow love is a fluke
We’ve survived thick and thin
Taking knocks on the chin
In the eyes of the sad
We may be barking mad
But the truth has been ceased
We are like chalk and cheese
You wind me up and I drive you mad
It’s a fact of life, it goes hand in hand
And I know that look, it’s read like a book
And I realize
I don’t care what the world has to say
You should know that I love you
I love you
I love you today
When the boat starts to rock
Then my ears start to block
All the words that you say
Through the night, through the day
Where there’s muck there is brass
And the storm soon will pass
Then it’s back to the norm
All the cold turns to warm
Sometimes I think life crawls like a snail
And all of our dreams become the wind in your sails
Without wealth it’s true, who cares what you do
And I realize
I can feel the eyes behind us as we walk
I can see the ears that listen when we talk
Heaven knows, Squeeze
Angelina costarred with Johnny Lee. Remember the fab red, yellow and white leather jacket she wore?

Those colors and the song inspired this necklace. Made from a unique shaped agate cabochon, set in sterling and fine silver, embellished with a bit more silver, antiqued and then polished to a wonderful patina. Available in the ShinyAdornments Artfire Studio.

Mookaite is a really lovely stone that comes in all sorts of lovely shades. I chose several shapes and sizes in varying colors of red and golden yellow to make this necklace.
The diamond shaped pendant is wrapped in yards of sterling silver wire, and then each stone is carefully attached with sterling wire to the frame and each other.
Another long necklace from me. The chain is about 19 inches, not including the beaded pendant, which adds about another 2 inches to the total length.
The color palette on this one reminds me of a late summer sunset.

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on
Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met?
Its a big enough umbrella
But its always me that ends up getting wet

This week’s theme for the Wire Artisan’s Guild is magic, and I couldn’t get the Police song out of my head.

This artisan wire wrapped necklace with umbrella and heart pendant are constructed from sterling silver wire, black onyx beads and lovely pink tourmaline stone beads. The necklace is black onxy rounds and sterling silver chain.
Overall length is around 22 inches, including the umbrella pendant.
I can’t wait to see what everyone else created this week. You can see too, by visiting our flickr group WAG Flickr Group Images

I spent an insane amount of time on this week’s challenge “Celestial Beings” . Every week or so some very talented wire artists on Etsy pick a theme and create something that exemplifies that theme. Participating etsy artists include JulidaDesigns, Lissa73, Meristem, Skydreams, Adenangier, Revelate, Eclettica, Ninarossi, Hergypsysoul, and me.
I probably went a bit too literal with this one, using yards of sterling silver wire to wrap and coil this very flashy angel wings pendant. I chose AA grade faceted moonstones and one very flashy lab heart brio to complement the wrapping.
At first, I was going to hang it from a lab beaded necklace, but after I got going on the necklace, I decided I liked the simpler look of black leather with fancy sterling silver wire wrapped ends. What do you think?
The necklace is a long one…probably 19 inches or so.
